How to Defeat Bowser in Super Mario Galaxy

  Use the spotlights to cling to the walls, crossing from one light to another as they touch. Watch out for the firebars. Take the beam at the top to the next planet.

  Jump quickly across the tumbling platforms on the lava planet. Run carefully across the long black platform without jumping. Then jump across the final set to reach the gravity beam.

  On the third planet, follow the path of ice platforms to the next beam. The platforms appear when you get close, but disappear after a few seconds. Don't waste time getting the 1-ups.

  Make your way across the spinning platforms and moving walkways on the next planet, avoiding the firebars, to reach the beam. Take the path of disappearing platforms and wall jumping, then carefully go through the gravity-changing area.

  Jump across the rotating platforms on the tubular planet to reach the Launch star. Hide behind the Bowser statues to avoid the giant Bullet Bills.

  Run up the final staircase to reach Bowser. Avoid the flames he and Bowser Jr. shoot down, and grab the mushroom in mid-path.

The Final Battle

  Watch out for Bowser rolling around in his boulder on the first planet. Spin attack his head three times. The first two will knock him on his back and send him sliding. The third will send you to the next battle.

  Spin attack a green bulb plant into Bowser while rolling in his spiked shell (while he's standing still works best) to send him sliding on his back. Spin attack him twice while sliding to move to the final fight.

  Lure Bowser to ground-pound one of the third planet's blue domes to set his tail on fire. Circle the planet to face him head on, then spin attack his tail into him when he turns around.

  Spin attack Bowser twice more while he's sliding (like you did in Step 2) to end the fight and complete Super Mario Galaxy.
