Perfecting Your Timing
Timing is essential when playing offense in baseball, and it is no different on "MLB 2K8." Pay close attention to each pitch and swing the remote when the ball is in your hitting zone. Avoid needless strikes by watching the path of the pitch when it is going to be a ball.
"Batter's Eye"
"Batter's Eye" is a a feature on "MLB 2K8" that allows a gamer to determine the type of pitch will be thrown next. By moving the analog stick on the nunchuk to the left, it will move a slightly transparent baseball around in the strike zone. Place the ball where you think the pitch will be thrown. If your guess is correct, the location will be revealed before it crosses the plate. Your hitting attributes will receive a boost if you guess correctly.
Working and Being Aware of the Count
When playing "MLB 2K8," a good strategy is to not swing at the first two pitches, even if they are clearly strikes. A gamer will get a sense of the types of pitches the opponent is throwing. It is also wise to be aware of the count. Don't expect a fastball in the middle of the strike zone when the pitcher is up in the count.
Pitch Sequence
Every pitcher in the game has more than one type of pitch in his arsenal. After you have been playing the game for a while, you will be able to identify certain patterns that every pitcher has. However, pitchers are known to break these patterns from time to time to alter a batter's timing.
