Instructions

    • 1

Remove all cables and the power cord from the Xbox and turn it over. Pull off the plastic feet at the four corners using your fingers. Remove the screws from beneath the feet using the Torx screwdriver.

    • 2

Scratch off the warranty and serial sticker on the bottom using the tip of the screwdriver. Use the screwdriver to remove the screws that can now be seen beneath the stickers. Pull the plastic tab off the bottom of the console and remove the screw from beneath the tab using the screwdriver.

    • 3

Turn the Xbox over, pull off its top and place it aside. Remove the DuoX2 modchip from its protective bag. Place the modchip on the bag so that the contacts at one edge are closest to you. Blow off the inside of the Xbox with bursts of compressed air.

    • 4

Cut four 6-inch strips of electric wire with the wire cutter. Strip 1/2-inch of insulation from both ends of all of the wires using a wire stripper.

    • 5

Heat up a soldering iron for five minutes. Solder an end of one of the wires to the second-most contact from the left. Let the solder cool for a minute. Solder an end of another wire to the next contact to the right of the one just soldered. Let the solder cool for a minute.

    • 6

Solder the end of another wire to the next contact to the right of the one just soldered. Let the solder cool for a minute. Solder an end of the last wire to the next contact to the right. Let the solder cool for a minute.

    • 7

Locate the vertical circuit board at the inside left side of the Xbox, just below the gray circular metal ring and to the left of the vertical computer chip.

    • 8

Solder the end of the leftmost wire connected to the modchip to the bottom right contact on the vertical circuit board. Let the solder cool for a minute.

    • 9

Count up three contacts from the one just soldered. Solder the end of the wire to the right of the one just soldered from the modchip to this new contact. Let the solder cool for a minute.

    • 10

Solder the end of the wire from the modchip to the right of the one just soldered to the contact directly above the one on the circuit board that was just soldered. Let the solder cool for a minute.

    • 11

Solder the end of the last free wire from the modchip to the next contact up on the circuit board. Let the solder cool for a minute. Unplug the soldering iron.

    • 12

Place the modchip over the contacts. Tape the modchip down on each side with a strip of duct tape. Press the "BT" button at the extreme left bottom corner to activate the modchip.

    • 13

Place the cover back on the Xbox. Turn the Xbox over and reattach the screw in the tab depression. Place the tab back on the Xbox. Reattach the screws in the feet depression and beneath the stickers. Place the feet back on the Xbox. Turn the Xbox over and reattach the cables and power cord.
