How to Earn an Amateur Badge on Kinect Sports

If you've just added Kinect Sports to your Xbox 360 game library, you'll want to learn how to get that coveted, first-step amateur badge. Fortunately, Kinect Sports' offers dozens of ways to get that first badge in six competitive, controller-free sports, including bowling, track and field, table tennis, beach volleyball and boxing. You will receive the amateur badge when you have earned 10 points in any of the competitions, but the method for gaining points varies by sport and style of play.

      Win any of the six games at the champion difficulty level for your first 10 points. Once you win the points, your amateur badge will appear on your screen for all online (and home) players to see.

      Perform any easy, 15-point trick in any sport. There are dozens of 15-point tricks, including a successful split in bowling; knocking down your opponent with an upper-cut punch in boxing; winning a game with a smash hit in table tennis; blocking the ball with a net-spike in beach volleyball, or scoring a goal in the last 10 seconds of a football match.

      Find the 15- or 20-point funny tricks. These are hidden throughout the game and include scaring the bird on the crossbar in football; throwing your javelin into the stadium bleachers (and breaking the electrical equipment) in track and field; throwing the discus no more than four meters in track and field, or knocking down every hurdle in track and field.

      Participate in the calorie challenge by boxing with various food staples, such as a pint of milk or a pizza. If you beat the food you will be awarded 15, 25 or 30 points, depending on the difficulty of the match.
