How to Open the Stairs in 'Call of Duty' for the Xbox360

The "Call of Duty" franchise is a series of video games that allow the player to participate in some of the most epic battles in the largest wars that mankind has known. The "Call of Duty" games, including the latest version, "Black Ops," feature a special mode called "Zombies," in which the player must defend themselves against the undead. In any zombie map with stairs, you can open blocked stairs by following a procedure.

Instructions

  Run over to the "Quick Revive" machine and use your available points to purchase a quick-revive. This will revive you instantly once if you are taken down by zombies. In the first two levels, use your knife to take out zombies to avoid using any of the ammunition for your gun, as you will need the ammunition as the zombies become stronger. Knifing zombies also gives you more points, which you will need to open the stairs.

  Run to the doors and windows that the zombies climb through after you have killed them with the knife. Press and hold the "X" button to repair the area. This will not only slow down future zombies from climbing into the level, but will give you 40 points for each second you spend doing it.

  Keep using your knife, and rebuilding doors and windows until round three. Once you reach round three, the zombies become stronger. You will need to use your pistol to take them out; aim for the head and you can kill a zombie in one or two shots. Getting a head shot also rewards you more points.

  Watch your point total until you get above 1,000. When you do, run to the stairs that you wish to open. Stairs, doors and other items can be opened or activated by using points that you have earned. The stairs you will find early in the stage will cost less than 1,000 to open. Press the "X" button and the debris will be cleared, allowing you to move up the stairs.
