Instructions
Talk to Virgil after watching the cut scene at the start of the "Greed" level. There will be a series of moving platforms in front of you. Jump across all of these platforms, then jump from the last platform onto a rising platform on the left. Pull the lever in this area to start a timed fight with several enemies.
Defeat all of the enemies before the lava rises to your location. The "Holy Cross" attack is effective against multiple enemies, but the important thing is to just keep attacking the waves of enemies. When all of the enemies are defeated, the lever will reappear; pull it again to move a walkway to within your range. Go across this walkway and you'll see several spinning gears to the right.
Press "A" to jump onto the closest gear, then jump up three more gears. Jump onto the highest gear to the left, then jump from that gear onto the highest gear in the center. There will be a gear spinning vertically to your right and a Shade just past that. Jump back toward the screen, then press the jump button again while angling the joystick to the right to jump up to the ledge containing the Shade.
Approach the Shade and press the "RB" button when prompted to either absolve or punish the Shade. Absolving her will increase your magic powers, while punishing her will increase your scythe powers.
