How to Tame Pinatas in Viva Pinata

"Viva Piñata" players create elaborate gardens to attract and tame different piñata breeds. Each wild piñata species has specific space and living requirements that players must fulfill to "tame" a visiting piñata. Tame creatures permanently reside in the player's garden until they are removed or destroyed. To tame a piñata, the player must tailor the landscape and features of his garden to suit that piñata species. "Viva Piñata" is available on the Xbox 360 and PC platforms.

Instructions

  Press "F3" on your keyboard to open your journal. For the Xbox 360, press "X" on the controller and use your left analog stick to select your journal from the main menu.

  Use your mouse on the PC or the left analog stick on the Xbox 360 to scroll to the name of the piñata you want to tame. Read the list of requirements for the selected piñata to appear, visit and become a resident.

  Set up your garden to meet the requirements of the piñata you want to tame. For example, the "Raisant" piñata will only appear if the player is a level 4 gardener. It will visit if the player has one fruit tree, and will become a resident if it eats three of any fruit.

  Wait for the piñata to appear in your garden. Wild piñatas first appear outside the perimeter of your garden. They will only enter after the visit requirement has been fulfilled. Once you have met the piñata's residency requirement, it becomes a permanent resident of your garden and is considered tamed.
