Characteristics
Noble Six has the "Hyper Lethal" rating. Master Chief, the hero of the first three "Halo" titles, is the only other Spartan whose combat skills are rated on the same level. Spartan 6 is described as a skilled assassin who often prefers to undertake missions solo. However, despite his lethal skills, he is portrayed as having a more sociable side in "Halo: Reach," befriending other members of the Nobel team, soldiers met during his mission, and even civilians.
Training
Noble Six endured extensive and exceedingly tough training to develop into one of the most skilled Spartans in the "Halo" universe. His early years are shadowed in mystery and much of his personal file is classified by the Office of Naval Intelligence. He completed the Beta Company selection process and was chosen as one of their 300 members. Later in his career he became a test pilot in the United Nations Space Command's Sabre Program to develop the state-of-the-art YSS-1000 sabre-class starfighter. Through his skill and daring actions he eventually achieved the rank of lieutenant, and is assigned to the Noble Team, who see action in "Halo: Reach."
Beta Company
Spartan Noble Six was a product of the Spartan III program initiated by the UNSC. He was a member of Beta Company, the second class of Spartans in the UNSC's program. They were the first Spartan group with an enhanced exoskeleton, and were preceded by Alpha Company and succeeded by Gamma Company, which includes Master Chief. Beta Company possessed 300 Spartans in all, equal to the 300 Spartans who defended the Anopaea path in Thermopylae against Persian invaders. Beta Company was largely annihilated in 2545 during "Operation: Torpedo", but Noble Six was removed from the company just before the operation.
Noble Team
In "Halo: Reach" Noble Six becomes part of the Noble Team, gaining the title "Noble Six" upon his recruitment. Falling under the command of the UNSC Special Warfare Command Group Three, this Spartan company is a fire-team sized unit primarily composed of Spartan III super-soldiers and one Spartan II commando. Other members of the Noble Team included: Commander Carter-A259, the units leader who is designated "Noble One"; Warrant Officer Emile-A239, designated "Noble Four," who became Noble Six's closest friend; and Chief Warrant Officer Jorge-052, the Spartan II commando, designated "Noble Five." The Noble Team was effectively wiped out during the Fall of Reach. Noble Six was reported killed in action.
