Tips & Tricks for Snoopy Flying Ace

When you mix World War I-style aerial dogfights with "Peanuts" comic characters, you get "Snoopy Flying Ace." Available as a downloadable game on the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade service, Brett Todd's June 2010 GameSpot review awards the game a "great" 8-out-of-10 rating. Knowing the right tips and tricks helps you improve your playing and get the most out of the game.

Single-Player Tips
- In an interview with XBLARatings.com, vice president of Smart Bomb Interactive, Clark Stacey, suggests strategically choosing your weapons to complement one another. For example, combine both long- and short-range weapons to ensure you're well suited for dealing with the wide variety of enemies you'll encounter. If you're overwhelmed by enemies, fly straight ahead so they begin to follow you, and then perform a stunt, like the "quick turn," to throw their weapons tracking systems out of whack and give you a clear shot of multiple enemies.
Multiplayer Tips
- If you're playing a team-based multiplayer game, GameXplain suggests sneaking into the enemy base. From there, you can use the enemy's own turret to take down multiple foes. With luck, you'll take a few down before your enemies even notice you're in their turret. In "Pigskin" and "Dogpile" modes, stay close to the ground if you have the ball or bone to avoid enemy fire and make it tougher to follow you, since the ground features more obstacles. In "Pigskin" mode, place "Squitos" mines in front of your goal in an attempt to prevent your enemy from making it through the goal alive.
Unlockable Avatars
- "Snoopy Flying Ace" features two avatar awards that alter the costume your character wears in-game. By getting at least one medal in every mission in the game, you'll unlock the Snoopy avatar shirt. The game has a ranking system that gives you a named rank based on how well you play. If you get to the "Flying Ace" rank, you'll unlock the Red Baron avatar costume. After unlocking an avatar, you can download and use them by going to "Help &Options," "Settings" and "Download Avatar Awards."
Unlockable Gamer Pics
- "Snoopy Flying Ace" also has two unlockable Gamer Pics. Gamer Pics are the small pictures associated with your Xbox Live gamer tag. If you reach the 20th level in "Snoopy Flying Ace," you'll unlock a gamer pic of Woodstock, Snoopy's small yellow bird friend. Reaching 5,000 points in online multiplayer, you'll unlock a gamer pic of the top dog himself, Snoopy.
