How Do I Kill Raam?

"Gears of War" was released for the Xbox 360 in 2006. General RAAM, the leader of the Locust army, is the final boss players encounter in the game. Encountered in Act V during the "Pale Horse" chapter, RAAM is a challenge on any difficulty level. To damage RAAM, you must first disable, or wait for him to lower, his Kryll shield, while avoiding attacks on a moving train. There are a few tips to keep in mind when fighting RAAM.

  Press "A" to take cover behind the barricades on the train, to avoid RAAM's attacks as well as the attacks from the flying enemies to the left and right of the train.

  Stay in the light at all times to avoid RAAM's attack with the Kryll. Kryll will not go in the light.

  Shoot RAAM when he dispatches his Kryll shield. He is vulnerable at this time and, if you are in the light, the Kryll can not harm you. However, RAAM can still attack you with his gun, so quickly take cover after you shoot him to avoid becoming injured.

  Use grenades or the Torque Bow weapon, located at the barricade where the fight begins, to force RAAM to disperse his Kryll shield for a few seconds. This allows you to deal damage to him without waiting for him to remove his shield first.

  Move to a different barricade and light source if RAAM gets close to you.

  Stay behind cover to regenerate your health if you are injured.

  Continue to shoot RAAM, when he is vulnerable, until he is defeated. Once RAAM is defeated, a movie will play and the game will end.
