How to Do Traffic Cone Death on Halo 3

In many online Halo 3 maps, there are a number of traffic cones, or orange pylons. These traffic cones can be used to kill an opponent, if they are launched with a high powered weapon and connect with the other player at the right angle. While this is very hard to do, it can be accomplished with enough patience and the right technique.

  Find a weapon that can launch a traffic cone at a high velocity. A rocket launcher, gravity hammer, brute shot or even a combination of grenades and fusion coils can successfully launch a cone at an enemy player.

  Get behind the traffic cone so that it is in line with an approaching player. Sometimes, throwing a grenade or shooting fusion coils that are near traffic cones can result in a kill as well, if the enemy happens to walk into the path of the cone. However, fusion coils will launch the cones in uncontrollable directions, and using a weapon to line up the shot is much more reliable.

  Shoot at the floor just under the traffic cone to launch it at the approaching player at a high speed. Rocket launchers and Gravity Hammers will only need one shot to launch the cone, but brute shots or grenades could require multiple shots to launch the cone at a high speed. If it doesn't hit or kill the enemy, find another explosive weapon or try a different angle to increase the force of the launched cone and to make sure that it hits them straight on.
