How to Import Mass Effect Data from a Different Xbox Hard Drive

Mass Effect has a unique feature in that it allows you to transfer your saved games into future iterations in the series. Understanding the need to occasionally transfer data to a new hard drive, Microsoft allows users to transfer all the data from one hard drive to another. Once transferred, the Mass Effect data can be used on future games in the series played on the new hard drive.

Instructions

    • 1

Attach the Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Cable to the older hard drive. The cable should fit snugly.

    • 2

Attach the new hard drive to the Xbox 360 console. The hard drive can be placed onto the top of the console. Place the back of the drive against the top of the console, then lower the drive onto the top of the console. The drive will hook and snap into the console from the top of the accessory.

    • 3

Plug the transfer cable's USB end into the Xbox 360. The USB ports are located on the front of the console, where wired controllers would be connected.

    • 4

Turn on the Xbox 360 console. It will automatically detect the transfer cable and bring up a new window. The window will display several options relating to the connected hard drive.

    • 5

Select "Yes, transfer to console." A new window will appear displaying information found on the device.

    • 6

Select "Start" and press the "A" button. The data will begin transferring to the other hard drive, including your data for Mass Effect. The amount of time it takes to transfer the content depends on how much is on the hard drive.
