How to Make Your Gamertag Black

Xbox360 grants every user a gamertag for use with Xbox Live. You can modify your gamertag to black if you wish. But be forewarned: You may get banned from Xbox Live for doing this. Even though this modification will not harm anybody, Microsoft will sometimes ban people from Xbox Live who have modified anything at all. As such, you may want to create a profile for fun with a black gamertag and only use Xbox Live with your standard gamertag.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your Xbox360. Open Xport 360 as an administrator. Click "File." Go to "Open HDD." Select your HDD. Connect the HDD to your computer via the transfer cable.

    • 2

Go to "Partition 3." Open "Content." Drag your gamertag ID into your desktop.

    • 3

Open EzGt 2.2 as an administrator. Go to "Open." Select your profile and click "Open."

    • 4

Type in your gamertag. Click "Add." Choose the color black. Click "Save."

    • 5

Drag the new file to your HDD using Xport 360. Your gamertag now appears black. Again, avoid going online with this new gamertag. Xbox Live may ban you for having modified your gamertag. What you have done remains legal; however, Xbox will not take the time to discriminate between your mod and the mods used by hackers to cheat on videogames online.
