How to Make a Charge Controller

The Xbox 360 wireless controller is powered by two AA batteries, lasting about 15 to 20 hours. Over time, the cost of the batteries adds up. You can turn your Xbox 360 wireless controller into a charge controller by using the Microsoft Play &Charge Kit. When inserted into your controller, the rechargeable battery pack allows you to charge your 360 controller at any time without the use of batteries.

  Remove the old battery pack from your Xbox 360 controller.

  Insert the Play &Charge battery pack into the opening on your Xbox 360 controller.

  Turn on your Xbox 360.

  Plug in the USB end of the charge cable into your Xbox 360. Plug the other end into the port on the top of your Xbox 360 controller.

  Remove the charge cable from the controller and Xbox 360 when the light on the battery pack changes from red to green. This indicates that the controller is charged.

  Repeat the steps to charge the controller when the light on the battery pack flashes red.
