How do I Play PC Games on a 360?

The Xbox 360 is factory-designed to only play its own games which are programmed to its proprietary software. Other types of games that are designed to play on specific systems, like PC games, will not play on the Xbox 360 natively. However, the hacker community has developed Linux installer programs and system emulators which basically trick the Xbox 360 into playing PC games (or other system games) as if they were native to the Xbox's software system, which is called softmodding. The process of setting up your "Softmodded" Xbox to play PC games is fairly straightforward.

Things You'll Need

Softmodded Xbox 360
Memory card
Memory card reader with USB cord
Hugo v.10 PC Engine emulator

Instructions

  Place the memory card into the memory card reader and attach the memory card reader to your computer via USB connection, then open the memory card folder.

  Download the "Hugo v.10" PC Engine/Turbo Grafx emulator (See Resources) onto your computer and drag into the memory card folder.

  Insert the memory card with the Hugo v.10 emulator loaded to it into the memory card slot of the Xbox.

  Press the "Power" button on the Xbox 360 to turn it on.

  Use the "Up" and "Down" arrow buttons on the game controller to navigate through the modified dashboard menu to "Run Emulator" in the default menu. This will open another screen with the list of emulators.

  Select "Hugo v.10" from the list, then press "X" on the controller to enter the selection. The first time you do this, the system will automatically load this PC Engine onto the Xbox hard drive so will not need the memory card to launch the emulator again. The process will run and "Complete" will appear on the screen.

  Press the "Power" button on the Xbox 360 off and then on again to restart the system.

  Use the game controller to navigate to the "Emulator" menu in the dashboard, then select "PC Engine" by pressing "X."

  Insert your PC game into the game slot on the Xbox and play the game.
