How to Activate Vocal Overdrive in Rock Band

Rock Band is a rhythm game developed by Harmonix Music and published in 2007 by Electronic Arts for the Xbox 360 console. In Rock Band, players take on the roles of the members of a rock and roll band. These include a guitarist, a bass guitarist, a drummer, and lead vocals. While playing through the game, players can activate a special "Overdrive" ability that rewards them with a higher score multiplier. This "Overdrive" is activated differently for each member of the band.

Instructions

  Start playing a song in the game. Make certain you are in the "Vocal" position and you have the microphone.

  Sing the song as it plays. To do this, follow the notes as they scroll across the screen. Watch the arrow indicator. If it is pointing up, you need to sing at a higher pitch. If it is pointing down, you must sing at a lower pitch. Should no notes be displayed, make any sort of noise into the microphone.

  Complete "gold note" sections to fill your "Overdrive" bar by successfully singing the displayed notes.

  Watch for a gold band to pass across the singing section of the screen. Shout into the microphone when you see this. Doing so will activate the "Vocal Overdrive." Sing anything you wish while in "Overdrive."
