How to Use a Saitek Aviator PS3 on an XBox

If you dream of being a pilot, aerial combat games and flight simulators are the next best thing to being in the cockpit. There are many flight games made for the Xbox 360 console; however, the standard Xbox 360 controller is not ideally suited to play them. The Saitek Aviator, on the other hand, is a controller specifically designed to make flight games more realistic and enjoyable. The Aviator comes in both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 models; and while you cannot connect an Xbox 360 Aviator to a PS3, the opposite is possible with a controller adapter.

  Power off Xbox 360. Unplug the original game controller.

  Plug the cable from the controller adapter cable into one of the USB ports on the rear of the Xbox 360. Connect the original Xbox 360 game controller to the corresponding female port on the controller adapter.

  Power on the Xbox 360, and then insert an aerial combat or other flight game disc. Wait for the Xbox 360 to initialize and detect the original Xbox 360 game controller you connected to the controller adapter.

  Connect the USB cable from the PS3 Saitek Aviator flight controller to the USB port on the controller adapter.

  Press the "X" button on the original Xbox 360 game controller to launch the flight game. Use the PS3 Saitek Aviator controller stick as you would any other designed for the Xbox 360.
