How to Hook Up an Xbox Live Wireless Adapter

While the new Xbox 360 S console includes an internal wireless card, the original console does not. So if you have to connect to Xbox Live wirelessly on your old version of the video game system, you have to purchase the wireless networking adapter provided by Microsoft. Like most console accessories, the adapter is designed for easy-of-use and has barely any setup involved.

      Turn off the Xbox 360.

      Plug the adapter's USB cable, which is attached to the adapter, into the console's rear USB port. Notice that the console has two slots above the USB port. These are designed to mount optional accessories.

      Mount the adapter to the console by snapping the adapter's two tabs into place into the two accessory mounting slots.

      Turn the adapter's antenna upward. This improves reception.
