How to Connect Your Xbox Directly to Your Wireless PC

The Xbox 360 can connect directly to your wireless PC and access shared music, movies and photos. This process allows you to view the media stored on your laptop on your home entertainment system. Once set up, your media library will be easily accessible no matter where your laptop is in the house.

Instructions

      Connect your Xbox 360 to your home network. You can do this either by connecting your Xbox's network port to a router through an Ethernet cable or purchasing and attaching the Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter.

      Enable media sharing on Windows Media Player on your wireless PC. Select "Media Sharing" from the "Library Tab," check the box next to "Share My Media" and select "Allow" after clicking on your Xbox console.

      From the "Music," "Pictures" or "Videos" section of your Xbox dashboard select your PC and choose a media file to view.
