How to Get the Magic Beans in Shrek 2

Play through Chapter One. The beans in this level are relatively easy to find; none of their locations are hidden. There are 12 magic beans in this level; the most difficult to find is inside some crates near the level's end that you must smash to get the bean. Other locations include the bottom left of the screen in the fairy's area, on the high platform near Shrek's house and in between two platforms on the pond.

Continue playing through Chapters 2 and 3; each level has 12 beans to collect. The most difficult ones to find are the bean in the unbroken tomb in Chapter 2, which requires Donkey's Burro Blast to obtain, and the bean above the carriage in Chapter 3, which requires you to have the carriage driver stop so you can climb up and reach it. You will be able to tell where the bean is because of its shadow on the ground.

Play through Chapter 4, which has no beans, to get to Chapter 5. Most of the beans in this chapter can be found easily, but the last one requires the Gingerbread Man or Puss in Boots. Use one of these characters to jump to the left of the bridge, where pumpkins are shooting fire at you, to find the chapter's final bean.

Play through Chapters 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, all of which have 12 beans in them. Chapter 11 has no magical beans. In Chapter 6, the most difficult bean to find is in an enclosed area in the "Needle in a Haystack" challenge. Chapter 7 requires you to go high up into the Potions Room to find one of the beans, so try using Puss in Boots, who can jump higher. Chapter 8 has a bean hidden in a spider's nest in a small alcove, which is easy to pass by if you are not searching for it.

Look in each Chapter you play closely to find clues as to the magical bean's locations. The game will keep track of how many beans you have found in each chapter, so if you want to collect them all, you can go back into a chapter to find ones you missed the first time around.
