How to Change your Xbox Biography

Your Xbox Biography is the first thing people see about you on the Xbox console. Think of it as your "Profile." Sections in your Xbox biography are "Motto," "Name," "Location" and "Bio." Motto is the first thing your friends see on the dashboard, because your avatar will say your motto in a speech bubble. Your name will show up on the top of your Xbox bio for everyone to see, and is optional to fill in. If you would rather be called by your nickname over Xbox Live, put your nickname in this space. Your location is where you live; this section is also optional. Your Bio is a section that is all about you. Place any information you would like your friends to know in this section, including other hobbies, favorite games, friends or school.

Instructions

  Turn on the Xbox 360 console by pressing the power button located on the front of the Xbox, or by pressing the Xbox button located in the middle on a synced Xbox 36 controller. Wait for the dashboard to load.

  Press the Xbox button located in the center of the controller. Press the "X" button, use the left joystick to locate your profile and press "A" when your profile is highlighted to sign in.

  Use the left joystick to navigate the Xbox dashboard up or down to the "My Xbox" tab. Navigate to the right and press "A" when the tab with your avatar on it is highlighted.

  Navigate down to the second selection and press "A" when "Profile" is highlighted.

  Navigate down to the second option and press "A" when "Edit Profile" is highlighted.

  Navigate to sections that you wish to edit from this page. For instance, if you wish to change your Motto, navigate to the fourth option that says "Motto," and press "A." A window will pop up on your screen with a blank line and a keyboard below it. Use your left joystick to navigate through the letters and press "A" to input a letter into the blank line. When you are finished entering your motto, press the "Start" button or navigate to "Done." Xbox messenger pads are useful for editing your Biography faster, but are not required.
