How to Hook an Xbox to DCH6416

Home entertainment systems contain a variety of gadgets and devices, many of which are connected to the TV for display purposes. Most TVs have several inputs to handle a wide range of accessories, but often there are not enough. If you have a Motorola DCH6416 DVR and an Xbox console, you can save space by using the extra inputs on the DCH6416 for your Xbox. Hooking up an Xbox to a DCH6416 will allow you to maximize valuable inputs on your television by using one input for two devices.

Xbox RCA cable adapter
RCA cable

Instructions

  Connect your Xbox RCA adapter to your Xbox console. The connection should be a horizontal connection that plugs into the back of your Xbox.

  Plug the red, white and yellow RCA connectors into their corresponding colored sockets under the "Input" section on the back of your Motorola DCH6416.

  Hook up your DVR to your TV using the remaining RCA cable. Connect one end of the RCA cable to the back of your DCH6416 under "Output," and the other end to the back of your TV under "Input."

  Turn on your TV, Motorola DCH6416 and Xbox console.

  Select the input on your TV that corresponds to your Motorola DCH6416 DVR.

  Press the "Input" button on your DCH6416 remote control. This should send the Xbox signal through the DVR and into the TV.
