How to Mod an Xbox 360 Controller for Rapid Fire

In competitive online video gaming, rapid fire controllers are often a significant advantage against other players. First-person shooters, in particular, benefit from this modification, as the strongest weapons in such games are usually single-fire firearms as opposed to semi- or fully automatic weapons. Players who can pull the trigger faster than their opponents usually emerge victorious from heated battles. For a few dollars, modify your Xbox 360 controller for rapid fire functionality.

Things You'll Need

  • Metal paper clip
  • Hot glue gun and sticks

Instructions

    • 1

Ensure that the game's activated controller scheme uses the right trigger button to fire weapons. To check this, enter the game's option menus and access the "Controls" tab.

    • 2

Heat up your hot glue gun and apply a bead of hot glue along the length of your Xbox controller's right trigger button.

    • 3

Press a metal paper clip against the hot glue. The paper clip should also run along the along the length of the trigger.

    • 4

Blow on the hot glue to hasten the solidification process.

    • 5

Apply more hot glue atop the paper clip, completely covering the metal and encasing the object between two layers of glue. As before, blow on the glue to hasten solidification.

    • 6

Place the tip of your middle finger on the lower end of the paper clip and the tip of your pointer finger just above it.

    • 7

Rapidly alternate pressing the paper clip with both fingers, thereby pressing the trigger button twice as fast as normally possible with one finger.

    • 8

Pair the rapid-fire functionality of your controller with powerful single-fire weapons, such as rifles or pistols, to get the most out of your modification.
