How to Hook Up an Xbox 360 to Wireless Internet Using a Linksys Adapter

Xbox 360 consoles have the ability to receive a wireless Internet connection from any type of wireless router. An Internet connection is used not only for playing multiplayer games with people all over the world, but also for downloading software updates that improve the performance of the Xbox system. As long as the Xbox has an Internet adapter and a wireless router is nearby, the Xbox will automatically connect without the need for extra cords or cables.

Connect the Xbox 360 wireless Internet adapter via a USB port on the back of the console. The adapter can be hooked into the console by inserting the plastic tabs into the slots in the top right corner on the back of the Xbox.

Check the light on the Xbox Internet adapter. If the light is green, then the connection was successful. If the light is flashing green, it's attempting to connect. If the light is red, there may be a hardware problem, but may be solved by simply unplugging the electronics and starting over again.
