How to Submit Fighters on UFC 2010 Undisputed

Submitting opponents on UFC 2010 Undisputed for the Xbox 360 can be a daunting task, and developers of the game intentionally made it that way. But there&'s nothing better than the feeling of wearing an opponent down, sinking in a choke, and forcing them to tap out. You will be best served if you practice your submission skills against computer opponents on an easier level before testing your skills against online opponents; slowly work your way up through easy, normal, difficult, and hard difficulty levels.

Instructions

    • 1

Make your opponent swing and miss while keeping them standing in the first round of the fight. The longer you can keep your opponent throwing empty punches, the easier it will be to submit them. Counter when your opponent shoots for a takedown by flicking the right analog stick either left or right. If you opponent attempts to take you down from the clinch position, flick the right analog stick either left or right.

    • 2

Hit your opponent with body shots and leg kicks. You need to change levels when you go on the offensive to keep you opponent on guard, but throw more body shots and leg kicks, which will reduce your opponent&'s punching power and help to reduce their energy.

    • 3

Move around, and throw well-timed punches. Do not swing wildly; this will lower your energy and decrease your chance for completing a submission.

    • 4

Slow opponents are easier to take down. When your opponent&'s movements and punches start to slow down, go in for the takedown by holding down the left trigger and flicking the right analog stick in the direction of your opponent. This will put you in your opponent&'s guard.

    • 5

Advance your guard position either by countering your opponent&'s attempts to escape by flicking the right analog stick either left or right during the escape attempt, or move the right analog stick from the 10 o&'clock position to the 4 o&'clock position.

    • 6

Posture up from either the half-guard position or the mount position by moving the right analog stick from the 12 o&'clock position to the 3 o&'clock position. You might have to do this a few times for your character to posture up. A submission will be more successful if you are postured up.

    • 7

Click the right analog stick immediately after you posture up. Your character will initiate the submission that is available to them from that position.

    • 8

Spin the right analog stick in either direction as fast as you can. The closer the camera zooms in on your submission attempt, the better chance you will have of finishing the submission.

    • 9

Switching your submission toward completion will give you a much better chance of submitting your opponent. Switch your submission by clicking the right analog stick. It will be tougher for your opponent to stave off this submission, because they will need to spin the right analog stick in the opposite direction. Continue spinning the right analog stick in either direction until your opponent taps out.
