How to Upload Movies to an Xbox

In 2007, a year after the release of the Xbox 360, Microsoft updated the operating system to include support for digital video files. This lets you use USB flash drives to transfer backed-up movies from your computer hard drive to the Xbox. The transfer process is simple; just follow a few steps and and you&'ll be watching movies on your Xbox in no time.

Digital video files

Instructions

  Plug the USB flash drive into your computer.

  Transfer the video files to the USB flash drive. You may want to create a new folder by selecting "File," then "New Folder," and name it “Videos” for easier navigation.

  Remove the USB flash drive from your computer when the files have finished copying, and insert the drive into an open USB port on the Xbox.

  Turn on the Xbox and navigate to the “Video” tab. Select the USB flash drive from the list of sources, navigate to the "Videos" folder previously created and locate the video file you wish to upload and play on your Xbox. Select it to begin playing the movie.
