How to Write a New EEPROM to an Xbox Motherboard

Xbox 360 consoles are made by Microsoft and are distributed with motherboards that hold "EEPROM" software which can be copied and edited. Xbox motherboards can be altered by "flashing" EEPROM files over a Serial ATA cable from the computer to your Xbox 360&'s motherboard. The EEPROM software automates the copy/edit process, which can be performed in just a few minutes via the application&'s simple user interface. The Xbox 360 console must be opened before proceeding.

A Torx screwdriver will open the Xbox 360&'s case.

Plug in the SATA cable from your PC to the 360&'s motherboard SATA connection after removing the console&'s case. Do not disconnect any hard drives from your PC&'s SATA ports, as this will cause your operating system to fail to boot up correctly. Use a separate SATA port on your PC to connect the 360&'s motherboard.

Power on the computer and run your web browser of choice. Download JungleFlasher and install the application.

    • 3

Run JungleFlasher and click your Xbox 360 motherboard from the drop-down menu. Choose "Edit EEPROM" and select "OK." The JungleFlasher program will copy your Xbox 360 motherboard&'s original EEPROM for editing on your PC. The JungleFlasher application will create your altered EEPROM for "flashing" or copying from the PC to your console via the SATA cable.
