How to Talk on an Xbox 360 Headset

The Xbox 360 headset allows you to communicate through the Xbox Live service. With the use of a silver or gold level Xbox Live account you can send and listen to private voice messages. The headset also allows you to set up private chat parties where you can communicate vocally with friends who join the chat channel. This private channel can be used for communication during online gameplay. The Xbox 360 headset also allows you to talk to other gamers during online play.

Xbox 360 controller
Silver or gold level Xbox Live account

Instructions

  Plug the Xbox 360 Headset into the port located on the bottom of your Xbox 360 controller. This will act as a powersource for your headset.

  Position the headset around the top of your head with the microphone an inch away and to the side of your face. This will help you to avoid the sound of your breathing from being picked up by the microphone.

  Slide the switch on the cable connector to the left to the picture of the microphone to enable voice communication. This will allow you to talk on the Xbox 360 headset.
