How to Troubleshoot Xbox 360 Drums for Guitar Hero

̶0;Guitar Hero: World Tour̶1; was the first game in the series to introduce vocalist and drummer parts to the series. This included adding a special ̶0;Guitar Hero̶1; drum controller to the game. There a few potential problems a player can have with the Xbox 360 drums that will make the game unplayable. Most of these issues can be resolved simply by checking the most common drum controller problems.

Instructions

    • 1

Replace the batteries in the ̶0;Guitar Hero̶1; drum controller. The Xbox 360 drums are wireless and need batteries to power the controller. This will resolve the issue if the drum controller will not turn on.

    • 2

Press the sync button on the Xbox 360 console and the ̶0;Xbox̶1; button on the drum controller. The sync button on the console is the round button next to the memory card slots. The ̶0;Xbox̶1; button is the gray button with the green ̶0;X̶1; on the front panel of the drum controller. This will resync the console and controller together. This will solve the issue if the Xbox 360 drums turn on, but the game does not respond to the controller.

Plug the foot pedal cable into the back of the ̶0;Guitar Hero̶1; drum controller. The cable might need to be unplugged and replugged if it is a little loose. This will solve the drum controller problem if everything on the drum controller works except the foot pedal.

Hit the drum controller harder if notes appear on the game with a white circle over the top. This is an intentional feature of ̶0;Guitar Hero̶1; drum parts, not a drum controller problem. The game will not register that these notes are hit if the player does not hit the drum pads hard enough. This will not be an issue if you are using the ̶0;Guitar Hero̶1; drum controller to play ̶0;Rock Band,̶1; because this type of note does not appear in that series.
