How to Make a Collage on Windows Vista

Forget trying to choose which child to feature on your computer desktop or who to print and frame on limited cubicle space. Use Vista to create a photo collage of all of your kids so no one's feelings are hurt and no one accuses you of having favorites. Create collages to showcase each child in their Halloween costume or sports uniforms.

Instructions

  1. Make a Collage Folder

    • 1

Create a file for the photos you want in the collage. Go to your "Start" button and select "Pictures".

    • 2

Choose "Organize" and "New Folder". Rename the folder "Collage" so you're able to access it easily.

    • 3

Drag the photos for the collage into this new folder, or copy the pictures so you're not altering the originals.

    Create the Collage

    • 4

Click the start button and go to "All Programs, "Accessories" and "Paint".

    • 5

Choose "Edit" from the top menu bar and go to "Paste From", which is at the bottom of the "Edit" drop down options. Locate the "Collage" file and select the photos inside, one at a time, and copy them into the "Paint" program.

    • 6

Drag each photograph into the position you want it in.

    Resize Each Photograph

    • 7

Hover your cursor over the size point located on the corner of the photograph until you have a double arrow.

    • 8

Right-click with your mouse and hold it. Drag the point in or out to alter the size of the entire picture while keeping the proportions correct.

    • 9

Let go of the mouse when the photo is sized correctly.

    • 10

Hover your cursor over the size points on any side of the photograph until you have a double arrow to move only that wall rather than the entire photo.

    • 11

Click "File" and "Save As" to save and name your new collage.
