How to File a Complaint on XBox Live

With millions of subscribers, Xbox Live serves as one of the largest online console gaming communities. With so many users, all with relative anonymity, you are bound to run into some disruptive or rude gamers violating the terms of service. When signing up for Xbox Live, Microsoft, you must agree to abide by a set common-sense standards. So a player uses obscenities or tampers with game content, with enough complaints, Microsoft can suspend or end an Xbox Live account. If you run into anyone violating these terms, use your Xbox's built-in reporting tools to file a complaint.

     Log in to the Xbox Live profile that you encountered the player for which you want to file a complaint.

     Press the Xbox 360 logo button in the center of your controller. The "Guide" appears on the screen.

     Select "Friends."

     Open the "Players" tab.

     Select the player for which you want to file a complaint. His profile opens.

     Choose "File Complaint."

   • 7

     Choose one of the four categories corresponding with your grievance: "Profile," "Text and Voice Communications," "Video Communications" and "Tampering." A list of complaints appears.

     Select a complaint from the list.

     Choose "File Complaint."
