How to Mod Your GT With a USB

Xbox Live is an online multiplayer gaming service that is operated by the Microsoft Corporation. When players join Xbox Live they are assigned a GamerTag. This is the universal name for a player on Xbox Live and can be up to 15 characters in length. Gamer pics and customizable options cost money and can be limited in their application. Fortunately, with a USB (Universal Serial Bus) drive you can mod your GamerTag for free.

Instructions

  Open USB Explorer. Highlight the code that appears in the window. This code is your Profile ID. Click "Extract" and select your desktop as the output path. Minimize the USB Explorer window.

  Launch EzGT and click on the file menu and select "Open." Highlight the file you extracted from USB Explorer and double-click on the file. Your GamerTag name will appear in the dialog box.

  Delete the GamerTag name and modify it to your preference. For instance, you can change your GamerTag ID to "Eric A."

  Click on the "Add" tab. Highlight a portion of your new name, such as "Eric," and click on the icon or color in the "Add" dialog box you would like to add to the name. For example, you can change the color of "Eric" to green and the color of "A" to blue.

  Click on the "Options" tab to number the "Modded Profile Number." Select a number to save the profile to and click "Save."

  Launch Modio and browse your desktop for the modded profile you saved. Drag and drop the modded profile into Modio. Click "Rehash and Resign" in the bottom right-hand corner of the dialog box that opens.

  Open the USB Xplorer application. In the dialog box, click on "...." and select "Content." Select "Inject Folder" and choose your modded GamerTag file. Eject the USB drive and plug it into your Xbox 360.

  Sign in using your current Xbox Live GamerTag. Go to "My Xbox" and select your GamerTag. Select "Change GamerTag" and navigate to the GamerTag on your USB device.
