How to Fix the NAT Problem on the Xbox 360 Using a D-Link Router

By default, routers have firewalls and other security measures in place to prevent unauthorized access to devices connected to the network. These security measures can also interfere with certain applications on devices connected to your network. If you are experiencing problems with your Xbox Live connection, you may need to configure NAT (Network Address Translation) access on your Xbox 360 and D-Link router. In order to do this you must configure certain settings on your Xbox 360 as well as the router.

Instructions

  1. Configure Xbox 360

    • 1

Turn on your Xbox 360 console and press the center Xbox 360 controller button to open the Xbox 360 dashboard.

    • 2

Scroll over to the "Settings" menu in the Xbox 360 dashboard.

    • 3

Scroll down to the "System Settings" selection and press the "A" button on the control.

    • 4

Scroll down to "Network Settings" and press "A."
