Cheat Codes
"Pirates of the Caribbean" has three cheat codes that can make the game much easier to complete. Entering "A," "X," "Y," "B," "Y," "B," "X," "B," "B," and "A" will give you 100,000 more gold. This code makes it very easy to buy the best ships and officers in the game very early on. Entering "A," "B," "Y," "X," "Y," "B," "B," "Y," "B," and "A" will give you 50 extra skill points. Entering "A," "Y," "X," "X," "Y," "Y," "B," "Y," "X," and "A" will enable God Mode in the game. This will make Captain Hawk and his ship invulnerable to damage.
Reputation Reset Code
"Pirates of the Caribbean" also contains a code that will allow you to reset your reputation. Unlike the other codes, you can only use this code while you are ashore on an island. This code will reset your reputation back to neutral no matter what your current reputation is. This cheat is a help in areas where you have a negative reputation, but will hurt your character if you use it when you have positive reputation. The code to reset your reputation is "A," "X," "Y," "X," "Y," "B," "B," "Y," "B," and "A."
Officer Hiring Exploit
The player in "Pirates of the Caribbean" can hire officers to help him complete quests on the land or aid in commanding his ship. The cost to hire an officer is based on the relative strength of the officer, the player's Leadership skill, and the negotiation with the officer candidate. Exploit this to cause the officer to pay you to hire him. First, you should level your Leadership to the maximum rank of 10. Find any officer candidate to hire. Always select the option to renegotiate for a lower price. Eventually the officer will start asking for a negative amount of money. You will receive this amount of money when you hire him. If you do not want the officer for actual use you can immediately fire him and keep the money.
