How to See If an XBox Live Card Is Active?

Xbox Live is the online marketplace and multiplayer matchmaking utility for the Xbox 360. A subscription is required to access some content (such as matchmaking), but the marketplace where you can download movies and games is available to anyone. Prepaid cards give you access to all of the content on Xbox Live; Microsoft points allow you to purchase items from the marketplace.

     Turn on the power on your Xbox 360.

     Press the "Guide" button on the center of your Xbox 360 controller.

     Use the analog stick or directional pad to go to the "Marketplace" tab on far left.

   • 4

     Select "Redeem Code." Enter the code. If the code is valid and active, what it is good for (either points or subscription time) will be listed on the screen.
