Easy XBox Achievements

When Microsoft's Xbox 360 game console was released in 2005, the company introduced achievement points in the console's software. Each game contains a number of achievements--tasks and challenges specific to each game. For each task completed, gamers add to their gamerscore, earning them bragging rights in the Xbox online community. Some games contain particularly easy achievements, allowing gamers to increase their gamerscores quickly.
  1. Easy Achievements

    • The best games for racking up achievement points reward you for progressing through the game and completing specific single-player tasks.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is notorious among gamers for having a particularly easy set of achievements. The game rewards you with 1,000 gamerscore points for achieving a 50-hit combo, which can be accomplished easily in the game's first battle.

Sports games often include easy achievements most gamers will fulfill during normal gameplay. Madden NFL 06, for example, rewards you for completing 30 years of franchise mode and for winning the Super Bowl, each of which can be accomplished by playing the game normally or simulating seasons automatically. Fight Night Round 3, NBA Live 06 and College Hoops 2K6 also give you generous achievement scores for progressing through the game normally.

The popular Bioshock contains several easy achievements such as fully upgrading weapons or completing the game's levels. If you play the game without harvesting any little sisters, you will gain 100 gamerscore points. Peter Jackson's King Kong rewards you for completing simple tasks such as killing giant snakes or Tyrannosaurus rex. The game gives you 200 points simply for completing it. Similarly, TMNT: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles rewards you for completing the game. Because the game is short, you can rack up easy achievement points in a few hours.

The Lego games contain many easy achievements. Lego Star Wars, Lego Batman and Lego Indiana Jones reward you for progressing through the game and collecting items.

    Games to Avoid

    • Avoid games that reward you for putting long hours into the game or for completing tasks online. These achievements tend to be more difficult and time-consuming, especially if they require you to get to the top of online leader boards.

Online multiplayer games such as Call of Duty 4 or F.E.A.R. often require you to spend a lot of time in multiplayer matches to rack up achievement points. If you are a fan of first-person shooters, you may find these achievements enjoyable to accomplish. If not, however, you should stay away from the notoriously difficult and unforgiving Xbox Live online matches.

Skill-based achievements in games like Guitar Hero III or Tony Hawk's Proving Ground reward the most-talented players and can be difficult for casual gamers to fulfill. Games that require you to collect lots of items also can be time-consuming and frustrating. The achievements in Dead or Alive Xtreme 2, for example, require a heavy time investment to collect swimsuits and other items.
