Things You'll Need
Instructions
Make notes on the color, shape, capacity, threads, symbols and any numbers stamped inside or on the base of the jug. Take photographs of these things as well, to be sure that you have a complete record.
Contact the manufacturing company. If you have a receipt for the purchase of the pottery jug call the company listed on it and ask for specific product information. Send photographs of the jug to the company to make identification easier.
Contact antique experts and ask for help tracking down the origin of the jug. Antique appraisers, pottery dealers, local museums and even pawn shop owners may be able to help you track down where your particular jug came from and put a value on it.
