How to Locate Pin Insulators

A pin insulator is a glass or porcelain insulator supported by a pin that holds low-voltage or high-voltage electrical lines. A single pin insulator is used for a low-voltage electrical line whether it is glass or porcelain. Two, three or four porcelain insulators are glued together when holding high-voltage lines compared to only a single glass insulator. Pin insulators are white, brown, red, gray, green, black, blue and clear. Finding pin insulators takes time, patience and ingenuity.
