  Obtain an appraisal through local antique dealers or online. Get written reports highlighting the sword's appraised value. Find similar antique swords and compare the value to help determine your selling price.

Although you may be tempted to tackle this task at home, leave this job to the professionals. Restoring antique swords may require the use of toxic materials that could be harmful if used improperly.
