How to Identify Jadeite Dishes

Jadeite dishes are popular among collectors. McKee was the first company to manufacture jadeite, but has credited its naming to the Jeannette Glass Company. Jadeite dishes initially became popular because they were cheap to produce, durable and stain and heat resistant. Collecting these dishes now can be quite expensive. When looking for jadeite dishes, it is important to make sure you are buying an authentic product.

Instructions

    • 1

      Turn the dish upside down.

    • 2

A small circle with the letters "McK" will identify McKee as the maker of the dish.

    • 3

A "J" inside a triangle will identify Jeannette Glass Company as the maker.
