How to Clean a Manual Typewriter's Type Bars

Manual typewriters add classic appeal to any hobbyist's collection. Whether restoring antique typewriters as a hobby or simply cleaning up an old one, common household cleaning products are all that's needed to remove layers of dirt and residue. The metal type bars tend to stick when they sit and accumulate build-up. Restore these crucial parts with mild abrasive cleanser and spray lubricant.
