It is recommended that Limoges dinnerware not be cleaned in a dishwasher, and hand-painted porcelain should never be placed in a dishwasher. Although modern Limoges is often dishwasher safe, the harsh detergents and action of a dishwasher will abrade the over-glaze decoration of antique Limoges.
Hand Washing
Hand-painted Limoges should be hand-washed with a mild detergent and soft cloth. While cleaning, make sure you are not abrading or flecking off the decoration.
