How to Identify Georg Jensen Silver Marks
Locate the mark on the piece, using a jeweler's loupe or magnifying glass if needed.
Determine which mark was used (ranging from a "J" transposed over a "G" used 1904 to 1908 to the current GEORG JENSEN in all-caps block letters within a dotted oval). Most Jensen marks use a variation of the initials "G.J." or spell out Georg Jensen. The exceptions are two marks used from 1910 to 1930, which include the initials "G.I." instead.
Look for an additional designer's mark on the piece, which can range from initials only to a name spelled out. If an item was produced in conjunction with Jensen's shop, both marks will be present. Many items will only have the Jensen manufacturer's mark.
