History
Although John Ernest Miller went to work for Duncan Glass Company in 1874, the Duncan-Miller period is set from 1893 to 1955, when the company closed its doors for the last time.
Forms
The factory produced a variety of decorative and useful objects from candelabras, compotes and vases to cigarette cases and cologne bottles. Their swan bowls are particularly prized by collectors.
Body
Most Duncan-Miller tableware was produced in crystal and transparent soda glass. Decorative items were produced in both transparent and opalescent colored glasses. Milk glass production ceased before WWII.
Colors
Colors range from clear to peach crystal to deep cobalt and ruby, as well as the popular Vaseline yellow and emerald green. Opalescent glasses include blue, pink and yellow.
