How to Care for a Flask

A flask is usually made of stainless steel and its usual purpose is to hold liquor. Most flasks have a slight curvature in their shape as they are usually held in a pants pocket. The curve allows the flask to rest against the leg comfortably. A flask can be a convenient storage container if you would like to bring a discreet beverage with you. Caring for your flask does not take much effort; often flasks are very durable, and last a long time if properly cared for.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill your flask with water and swish it around to rinse the inside before and after each use. Do not use soap or cleaning products when cleaning your flask, as it may stain the stainless steel. If the flask develops an odor, pour a small amount of white vinegar, about three cap fulls, and 1 tbsp. of baking soda into the flask, along with water, and then shake the liquid around once the lid is secure.

    • 2

Pour the water out. Do not let the water sit inside the flask for an extended period. If you used vinegar and baking soda, rinse the flask out several times.

    • 3

Allow the flask to air-dry with the lid off.

    • 4

Fill the flask with the liquor or beverage of your choice when you are ready to use it. You should not leave liquor in the flask for more than three days at a time.

    • 5

Rinse out the flask with water after every use and allow it to air-dry.
