How to Identify Bunnykins Tableware

Bunnykins is a design of nursery tableware and statuettes by the Royal Doulton that was first produced in the 1930s. The pieces feature rabbits in human clothing in various everyday scenes, many invoking the English countryside. These pieces can be quite collectible, and they are relatively easy to identify.

Instructions

    • 1

Examine the piece; the outside should be decorated with little brown bunnies. Bunnykins tableware with such decorations include plates, porridge or cereal bowls, cups, saucers and egg cups.

    • 2

Flip the piece over and look at the backstamp. There should be three bunnies trying to hold up the Royal Doulton seal, along with the word "BUNNYKINS" in quotes below the rabbits. Some pieces will also note the material from which the piece was made, such as "English Fine China." If your Bunnykins piece is signed on the backstamp, it may be especially valuable.

    • 3

Examine the backstamp for the Royal Doulton name; if it doesn't appear anywhere on the backstamp your piece may not be genuine.
