How to Refuel a Ronson Lighter

Ronson lighters are known for their long lifespan, consistent flame, and durability, and as such are used by many people around the world, from barbecue goers to cigar smokers. However, a lighter with the lifespan of a Ronson will tend to run out of fuel before it is replaced, so it is made to be refillable with butane. Keep your flame lit longer by refilling your Ronson lighter.

Using a small flat-head screwdriver, turn the flame size adjuster on the bottom of the lighter to the lowest setting, usually indicated by a "-" on one side of the adjuster.

    • 2

Let the air out of the lighter by pressing the refilling valve with a small screwdriver. This will allow more butane to be injected into the lighter. Keep the valve open until the air stops coming out of the lighter. This should only take a few seconds.

    • 3

Hold the lighter upside down in one hand, and with the other inject the lighter with butane by pressing the tip of the butane can into the refill valve of the lighter. Inject butane into the lighter for three or four seconds and close the refill valve of the lighter.

Allow the lighter to sit for three to five minutes. Turn the flame adjuster back to its original position with a small flat-head screwdriver and ignite the lighter carefully. If there is no flame, repeat the refill process.
