Things You'll Need
Instructions
Place the lid on your plastic container. Push down and listen for air escaping through possible holes. If you do not hear anything, feel around the container for air. If there is air escaping, do not use the container for a cigar humidor. Choose another container. If there is no air escaping, move on to step two.
Put two wooden cigar boxes into the plastic container. These boxes are placed in the container to prevent direct moisture contact with the cigars.
Add a battery operated digital hygrometer into the plastic cigar humidor. Make sure it is placed so that you can see it by looking inside of the container with the lid on. This will allow you to keep track of the humidity levels in the cigar humidor.
Wet a sponge or a clean wash cloth with hot water, wring it out, and place it into the plastic cigar humidor. Do not place it in the cigar boxes. Place it next to them, if possible. If this is not possible, attach the sponge or wash cloth to the lid with Velcro.
Place the cigars into the cigar boxes inside of the plastic cigar humidor. Place the lid on tightly.
