How to Create My Own Military Coin

Military coins are a tradition, said to have started during World War I, that have spread to civilian life. They are called "challenge" coins because a service member, if challenged, must be able to present his unit's coin or buy all present a drink. Individuals and organizations distribute coins as a token to reward effort, and people collect them as a hobby. Outside the military, social clubs, businesses, and hobbyists like geocachers use military coins. Anyone can have his or her own military coin made by the same companies that provide military and government coins.
