Sharper Image Coin Bank Instructions

The Sharper Image sells a digital coin bank that sorts coins automatically and provides an LCD readout of the running balance in the bank. The battery operated device has a motor and sensor that sorts and compartmentalizes quarters, dimes, nickels, pennies and $1 coins. When you make a withdrawal, the bank senses the withdrawn amount, recalculates your balance and shows it on the display. The push-button operation allows you to track your coin-saving progress.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the bank upside down. Slide off the battery compartment cover and install two AAA batteries. Replace the cover.

    • 2

Pull out each clear cylinder from the front of the bank and insert a paper coin wrapper for the proper denomination. For example, insert a dime wrapper in the cylinder labeled for dimes. Squeeze the edges of the paper coin wrapper to pop it open into a tube so it will slide properly into the cylinder. Replace each cylinder in its compartment on the front of the bank.

    • 3

Press the "On/Off" button on the top of the bank to start the motor.

    • 4

Drop up to 50 coins at a time of any mixed denomination into the slot at the top of the bank. The digital readout on the front displays your balance as the coins sort into their respective tubes.

    • 5

Press any of the denomination buttons on the front control panel to determine how many coins you have in each cylinder. For example, the pennies cylinder holds a standard roll of 50 pennies. When the display reads "50" when you press the pennies button, remove the cylinder.

    • 6

Place a finger over the open end of the cylinder and turn it upside down to slide out the paper tube filled with coins. Fold the ends on each side of the paper tube so the coins cannot spill out.
